Challenge

Translating emotional and sensitive themes like uncertainty, fear, and resilience into warm and accessible visuals for children. The style needed to be gentle and empathetic without overwhelming young readers.

Solution

The illustration process began with hand-drawn concepts, which were then rendered digitally using Procreate. Colors and textures were carefully chosen to reflect changing emotional tones throughout the story. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop were used for layout refinement and finishing touches, while InDesign handled the final book formatting.

Results

The finished book resonated strongly with readers and families during the pandemic. It served as a valuable resource for helping children process difficult emotions through story and art. The project showcases Wajahat Baig’s ability to handle sensitive themes with compassion, style, and storytelling clarity.
